Bluish coloured paving bricks in Meißen design Axel Springer Passage
This new 6 to 8 storey building for the shopping arcade nestles proudly amongst the two existing, prominent 19-storey high-rise buildings of the largest newspaper firm in Europe. The external appearance is striking thanks to the visual effects of the transparent, glass façade. 190,000 blue-anthracite Meißen paving brick covering a surface area of around 4,000 m² were used on the ground floor of the new building.

Owing to the grid dimension and the join width required, the bricks were produced in the special format of 195/95/52 cm. The elevator floors were also fitted with 2,500 items, cut to 2 cm thickness. The architect set a design flair to the paving brick surface through mosaic lines consisting of Portuguese granite.
